NORTH AMERICAN PONY
FUTURITY ANNOUNCES
NOMINATION DATE EXTENSION AND STALLION FEE PAYMENT PLAN
Due to
popular demand the NAPF officially announces the institution of a 2009
payment plan for stallion nomination fees and an extension for the get of
sire nomination date. Stallion fees will be due in three equal payments on
the following dates:
January 31, 2009: 1/3
payment
March 15, 2009: 1/3
payment
May 1, 2009:
paid in full
Foal and
get of sire nomination due date is now changes to April 1, 2009. At that
time payment will be due in full.
We hope
that these modifications will accommodate your 2009 budgeting and allow
for the interested owners and breeders that are just recently becoming
aware of the program to enjoy the benefits for their breeding and training
operations in this, our inaugural year.
Welcome to the North American Pony Futurity
Welcome to the North American Pony Futurity website. The NAPF (a 501 c 3
organization) was formed after several years of brain storming at
shows by many pony enthusiasts. Although many were hoping for a showcase
for our young North American bred performance and breeding stock there
seemed to be no appropriate venue available during the best time of the
year for the youngsters.
With
the announcement of the Old Dominion Horse Show and North American
Championship taking place in July 2009 in the heart of Virginia pony
breeding country, our dream was able to come true. The NAPF board and
committee members feel that this will be the perfect location to draw
pony fans from all over North America, with easy access to I-95, I-64
and minutes from the Richmond Airport. The show will be “AA” rated for
the pony hunters and will offer Derby style stake classes for ponies,
costume pony hunt teams, as well as a full rated pony breeding section.
Old Dominion will be advertising heavily hosting many activities to draw
prospective pony purchasers.
Through stallion and foal nomination fees, sponsorships and our “Friends
of the Pony Futurity “ programs we will launch lucrative incentive fund
awards to our breeders, owners and stallion owners. We have modeled our
awards structure after the International Hunter Futurity which has been
running successfully for over 20 years. In past years several owners
have taken home over $30,000 in winnings.
Our
future plans include pictorial stallion listings (free to all stallions
nominated), pony classifieds, a stud service auction, fund raising
activities, and hopefully in years to come perhaps an auction to follow
our Saturday Pony Futurity classes. We hope to next year have a booth at
the USEF Pony Finals. We will have Amateur /Junior handler awards,
Lifetime achievement awards and recognition of our most successful
handlers. A massive media awareness campaign through print, websites and
email will soon be underway. Watch for news about our growth.
North Americans have had a highly successful history of producing some
of the best performance ponies in the world. We feel our new futurity
will provide a showcase for our beautiful and athletic animals. It will
provide a perfect promotional and sales opportunity for our breeders and
a place for buyers to buy North American.
In
our first year as we build our organization, we hope many of you will
join us in this dream. Nominate your stallions and youngsters, (up to 5
years old for 2009), become a “Friend of the Pony Futurity” and consider
our sponsorship opportunities. Donate a perpetual trophy in honor of a
loved one, a favorite trainer, or after one of your best ponies. Offer
to volunteer, donate to our silent auction. We are currently seeking
volunteers as state representatives to help with distribution of our
literature at your area shows and events and provide awareness to pony
enthusiasts in your area. If any of you are writers, we could use a
person to serve as our Corresponding Secretary and a NAPF Historian..
We are also searching for a few more board members. If you would like to
serve in any way please use the contacts below.
Please excuse our website while it is under construction and check back
frequently as more information on the program is posted, and nomination
forms are available for download.
Our board and representatives envision the North
American Pony Futurity as a
solidifying and inclusive network for all pony enthusiasts, both young
and old. We welcome you to be part of this organization and join us in
advancing the future of pony breeding in North America.
